About Church Building Back in 1984 many cynics insisted that our places
of worship were doomed. Today, thousands of readers are still enjoying Church Building magazine which continues to provide a feast of architectural and artistic insights into every denomination’s places of worship. We have tried to reflect so much which has happened ecclesiastically over the past two decades, both at home and abroad. And it is true to say that while some religions have definitely fluourished, others have found it necessary to make some really radical changes. Certainly in Britain, our mainstream Churches have made many modifications - sometimes grudgingly, but always positively - to cater for the multifarious demands of the 21st century worshipper. We at Church Building magazine have tried to provide a first class service to our diverse range of readers who include: clergy; architects; structural engineers; a host of professionals engaged in ecclesiastical development; plus an unswerving and growing army of people who just simply love churches. So, to enable you all to keep your finger on the pulse in a world where there is often fast-moving changes in legislation, we now produce six issues a year of our 84-page, full colour, A4 magazine. And you’ll find that we pack quite a lot into our pages: we showcase church projects which you should find both interesting and of great practical value – particularly if you are involved in planning changes to your own church. Our interesting feature articles often stimulate
ideas for travellers, and our regular profiles
give a practical insight into just what it is
like to be involved in the fascinating world of
ecclesiastical architecture on a daily basis. Church Building Magazine is published by: Gabriel Communications Ltd Fourth Floor, Landmark House Station Road Cheadle Hulme SK8 7JH Tel: 0161 488 1700 Fax: 0161 488 1701 |
